Magda, watching you train is truly inspiring. Where does all that strength come from?
That strength comes from all the challenges that life throws my way, which are many… and sometimes very difficult. But I always think of a phrase my grandmother used to tell me the many times I went to her seeking comfort, someone who was always by my side:
“If life gives you these challenges, it’s because it knows you can handle them and you will overcome them.” 🥰
Do you see physical exercise as a purely physical practice or do you also include a mental component?
I always say: I train because I like it, I train so I can eat 😂, but above all I train to maintain my mental health 🙌
To what extent did your focus on sports practice help you during your fight against breast cancer?
It was crucial, once again, to keep me sane.
In my case, the training, the diet I followed, and above all, the love and dedication of my friends and family throughout this process were undoubtedly a great added value to this challenge, and made it much less painful. 🙌
What message would you leave for women who are going through a difficult time?
Mainly, we must to accept, to surrender, to trust, and to be grateful.
And whenever possible, don't put your life "on pause"; do everything you can and everything your body allows you to do.
It is essential to know hear And understand what our body is telling us. If it's asking for the sofa, bed, or rest, we respect that. But if we can try to continue with our "normal" life... go for it! 👊🏻
I really like the lyrics of a Jota Quest song, “Dias melhores”:
We live waiting
Better days,
Days of peace, days of excess,
Days we will not leave
Back.
How would you describe yourself?
“My life is hard, but I am stronger than it.”
I read it once and I totally identified with it. That's me: I do everything I can to get the knockout and come out on top 😅.
Most of the time I do well, other times not so much… but, once again, training and physical exercise are fundamental to keeping us active and strong, especially mentally.
How do you see this need to seek our best version?
Being ourselves, even if sometimes we have to do some "healthy crazy things" 😂.
I still have some to do… one of them is related to physical exercise, and yes, more focused on the body: an experience I would like to have at least once!
A message for all the women in the One More Up community:
Take care ALWAYS, Because if we don't do it, Nobody will do it..
This fast-paced life we lead flies by…
So take care of yourselves: first US, then US, and then everything else.
Without putting ourselves first, we won't be able to successfully connect with or care for those we love. ❤️
